Santa Paws Came!

Santa Paws came to our house and we got lots of great presents. Some cheese temptations, a fuzzy mouse each and a new fishing pole toy. Shen got a pig's ear, squeaky pheasant and some treats. We all got to have some roast lamb for dinner as well.

We think we like Chrismouse and we hope that all our friends had a great Chrismouse too!

Snowy Saturday!

There's still snow on the ground today, which is most unusual for where we live. Not only that. there's more snow expected for tonight! So maybe we will get that white Christmas everyone seems to want. Mum bean on the other hand could take it or leave it as the snow is making walking very slippy and difficult.

Also we came across this fun cat quiz in one of the many cat magazines mum bean reads. Why not give it a go?

What's Your Cat Saying?

1) Your cat waits and meows at the door when you arrive. Is it saying,

a) Welcome home!
b) The phone rang twice while you were out
c) Feed me!

2) Now your cat meows at the door when you go out. Is it saying,

a) Please don't leave me here all alone!
b) Goodbye!
c) But what if I get hungry while you're out?

3) Your cat digs its claws into your leg. Is this,

a) An unsuppressed primal instinct
b) A sign of affection
c) A demand to be fed now!

4) Your cat scratches at the door after being fed. Is it saying

a) Let me out - I need to use the garden!
b) I want to go out a play
c) I wonder what they've got next door.

Answers:

Most of the time, the correct answer is C

Have a warm and wonderful weekend!

The Snow is Finally Here!

First of all we would like to apologise for not posting or visiting much, but Dad bean had to go to hospital due to kidney stones. He's still in a lot of pain at the moment, but is feeling much better then he did.

Where we live in the South east of England, snow is a very unusual occurrence, even more unusual if it settles and is still around after 12pm. Last night in the early hours around 10-20 cm fell in some parts. Of course that means PHOTOS!

The rabbits were enjoying the snow that fell in their run overnight. But do not worry, they have access to their hutch which is stuffed with straw. They just decided they would like a bit of a bounce about in the white stuff

This was Charlie and Lola's first experience with snow and each reacted very differently. Lola is having nothing to do whatsoever with the scary, cold, wet stuff. Charlie, after over coming some initial misgivings decided to venture out. Thomas on the other hand has seen snow before and opted to stay in bed.

I love Charlie's eyes in this one. Sheer disbelief

Of course what would snow pictures be without some of the mini beans having fun?

We hope if you have snow that you're all warm and cosy inside. Have a great warm weekend!

Sleepy Saturday

After Thomas's 7 things you didn't know about me post, several of our friends asked to see pictures of Thomas sleeping with his big brofur Shen. Unfortunately quiet a few of mum's photographs are stored on CD ROM after her laptop broke, so we only have the ones available of Photobucket to show you. But here they are, Thomas was a young kitten in these photos.

The first night Thomas arrived and Shen was so desperate to make friends!

Thankful Thursday - Award

Yesterday Thomas O'Toole received this award from Loki the cat, Thank you.

Here are the rules to this award.

1. Copy and paste the Kreativ Blogger picture onto your blog.
2. Thank the person who gave you the award and post a link to their blog.
3. Write 7 things about yourself we do not know.
4. Choose 7 other bloggers to award.
5. Links to those 7 other bloggers.
6. Notify your 7 bloggers.

So here we go, 7 thinks you don't know about me, Thomas.

1. I was the first pet mum and dad got together. Mum already had Shen the dog and the parrots when she met dad

2. Mum and dad bought me from a pet shop before they really new any better. They chose me and not the little sliver tabby because I was the most feisty out of the two of us. They thought I would cope with the attentions of and over exuberant Labrador better. The lady at the pet shop lied, she said I was 8 weeks old, but the vet thought closer to 4-6 weeks. I came home with fleas and worms

3. Mum wanted to call me Slinky Malinki or Shadow, but dad put his foot down and said I was going to be a Thomas. My first collar was a green one which mum thought made me look Irish, so I got the second name O'Toole

4. I have three other families that I live with. Arthur's in the house across the road, the house next door on the left where Ringo the ginger Tom lives and another house at the end of the road. Mum doesn't mid sharing me as she knows there is very little she can do to stop me visiting them. They all know mummy owns me and where very helpful when I went missing.

5. My most favourite friend in the whole world is Shen our black Labrador and my big brother. I will always greet him first whenever I come into a room and I have been known to sleep in his bed with him. To think mum and dad thought Shen would either eat me or squash me because I was so tiny as a kitten.

6. I went through a phase of only exiting the out through the upstairs bathroom window. I would climb out and then run down the side of the house to get to the bottom. It used to worry mum endlessly. I have now thankfully stopped doing that now we have a cat flap in the back door.

7. I am not a cuddly cat. In fact no one in the family is permitted to stroke, touch or pick me up as I will scratch and bite. sometimes I will even attack mum and dad for no reason, other then I can. The only time I allowed any kind of affection was when I came home after being missing for 5 days. I have since returned to normal and will not tolerate any interaction, unless it's the feeding or treat giving kind. Mum and dad accept this as being me and they wouldn't change me for the world.

So many of our friends have received this award recently so I am going to break the rules and say anyone that would like this award, please feel free to help yourselves!

The Chrismouse is coming

Strange things are happening in our house and in the houses of cat bloggers everywhere. This, we are told is because the Chrismouse is coming!

The odd behaviour started with the beans decorating the house in lots of glittery dangling things to celebrate the Christmouse's impending visit.

If that's strange then the next thing they did was just plain bonkers. They brought an actual real fake tree that lights up into the house.

But this is by far the the worst part. The Chrismouse breaks into your house in the dead of night, eats any food left out and then leaves you presents!

Chrismouse presents!

We will be keeping a watch out for this Chrismouse. He'd better not come to our house, or he will wish he hadn't!

The Reason Why Mum Couldn't Help Us Blog Today

What you're looking at is a genuine Farther Christmas (Santa) footprint drawn on the beige stair carpet in red and blue bath crayon by Toddler Bean.

Mum managed to get it out of the carpet, but only by using two stain removers and lots of elbow grease. We didn't think that grease would be the best thing to clean a carpet with, but there you go. Now though she's been left with a patch of carpet that is suspiciously cleaner then the rest.

Funny Friday

Found on the back of a can of Rufus Cat Food:

Instructions on feeding your cat.

A sophisticated cat would never dream of eating its meal all in one sitting, cats are far too cultured.

Cats are great snackers and will rarely over eat so if your cat hasn't licked the plate clean in one sitting, your cat has thought to leave some for later, like grandads who leave food in their beards.

Rufus should be served straight from the can at room temperature, to add class to mealtimes, maybe light some candles and provide napkins.

Please provide fresh water at mealtimes, not wine.

If your cat is becoming overweight and you are thinking of extending the cat-flap, try exercising with your cat, but don't go running through your neighbours back yard or climbing high trees!

Thankful Thursday

Today we're very thankful that Thomas O'Toole managed to find his way home to us. Above is a picture mum took of him on the morning he came home. As you can see he's lost a little bit of weight especially in his face. But we're sure he'll soon put it back on, what with all the special treats he's been getting lately.

Mmm maybe we should go missing.

Licking the pickle!

Now we're sending out a message to all the other kitties missing in action around the Blogosphere. Get home now, in time for Christmouse!

THOMAS O'TOOLE HAS COME HOME!

Last night, crying myself to sleep, I gave up hope of ever seeing Thomas again.

I was woken by a cat scratching at my bedroom door around 1:00am. Thinking it was Charlie I shooed the cat away and went to the bathroom. While I was sat on the loo, who I thought was Charlie was winding himself around my legs and purring like mad. My eldest daughter came out of her room to use the bathroom and 'Charlie' walked into her room. I reminded her to leave her door open so Charlie could get out and that's when she said those beautiful words. 'But it's Thomas!'

It was then I scooped him up into my arms and ran round the house screaming, 'IT'S THOMAS!'

My husband got up and double checked for me because I was convinced I was dreaming, but no, he confirmed it was indeed Thomas. We then all gave him a big group hug that displeased him somewhat but we were just so happy. None of us have slept as it's like Christmas come early.

Thomas is a little thinner and very very hungry and unusually for him very affectionate and purry. If only he could talk, I bet he would have a tail to tell.

Thank you again everyone for your support and advice. It helped to know people and cats where thinking of him.
